Vice President of Sales & Marketing

 

This position works collaboratively to develop strategic partnerships, maximize customer relationships, create new service offerings and penetrate adjacent markets for a diverse set of hospitality and tour businesses. This role develops unique points of difference in the marketplace and oversees the development of external marketing communications to communicate those differences. The role hires, trains, and develops individuals in marketing, sales, contact center, e-commerce and revenue management  roles while directing and managing relationships with external agencies and vendors. This role develops, evaluates, and establishes both operational sales programs and strategic marketing plans through internal and external distribution channels which maximize sales growth and profit margin.

 

The Aramark Leisure portfolio includes national and state park destinations and conference centers in North America providing services related to lodging, food & beverage, retail, recreation (tours, snowmobiling, houseboats), interpretative and visitor services.    Locations include Yosemite National Park, Lake Powell Resort, Mesa Verde National Park, Denali National Park, Glacier Bay National Park, Olympic National Park, Zephyr Cove Lodge and Lake Tahoe Cruises, Asilomar Conference Grounds, Georgetown University Conference Center, Bolger Center, Fluno Conference Center, Mt. Washington Conference Center and others.   

 

Job Specific Responsibilities & Requirements

 

  • Lead marketing team to develop strategies and programs that support new business and base business growth in Aramark’s Leisure Line of Business.
  • Partner with regional leadership to develop and implement successful Sales & Marketing programs.
  • Communicate the Sales & Marketing strategy and tactics throughout the business.
  • Develop unique concepts, programs and systems to clearly distinguish Aramark locations from competitors and to help retain customers.
  • Analyze market trends of current and potential markets, customers, competition, and lost business.
  • Provide effective leadership in capturing best practices in marketing.
  • Participate in key sales opportunities.
  • Work with external partners to develop strategic and executional sales campaigns.
  • Provide analysis and strategy to address middle of the P&L initiatives.
  • Develop effective two-way communication between the field and corporate team for the execution of new programs, evaluation of existing programs.
  • Conduct test markets to identify successful new programs and marketing campaigns.
  • Partner with regional leadership and Sales organization.
  • Liaison to the Aramark Marketing Center of Excellence (COE) to implement center-led initiatives through the Aramark Leisure business.
  • Conduct market research to identify key needs and gaps that offer market opportunities.
  • Develop sales aids and communication materials via print and electronic mediums.
  • Aid in development of sales training programs.
  • Develop annual marketing budget for line of business
  • Play an integral role in the development of the strategic plan.
  • Support internal communication initiatives within the Line of Business
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key trade associations.
  • Develop trade show strategies and executional guidelines.
  • Hire, train, and develop sales, marketing, contact center, and revenue management positions.
  • Oversight of property level sales team incentive plans, goals and payouts.
  • Partners with IT in the identification of enabling technology to enhance the business.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following professional experience and skills:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) with 10 to 15 years of experience in a marketing leadership role.
  • Experience in creating and articulating and leading a team in executing a strategic vision, with proven ability in leading sales, marketing and operational teams.
  • The position requires strong conceptual, marketing, organizational and communications knowledge and skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate and measure program success.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills in a one-on-one and team environment.
  • The travel requirement for this position is 25-30 percent.
