    Description

    As a Brand and Category Manager, Design & Development, you will manage the core marketing strategies within Sports & Entertainment accounts. Working closely with the AVP of Design and Development, you will lead marketing initiatives primarily focused new concept and program development and implementation, as well as ongoing brand management of existing concepts in our portfolio. The Manager will be responsible for program and brand standard development and evolution, creation of marketing strategies rooted in consumer research & business needs, and measurement of success through sales data and tracking. In addition, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in marketing communications including client communications and presentations, advertising, public relations, in-venue promotional support and social media marketing.

     

    You will partner closely with as corporate functional teams (insights and analytics, IT, finance, operations and culinary), as well as the field operation teams (General Managers and venue department heads) to ensure the conceptual strategy and tactics align with the corporate and regional operational goals and vision.

     

    You will manage the development of all content affiliated with specified marketing or design and development projects.  This will include the management of 3rd party creative firms, as well as management of internal design processes and procedures in collaboration with the Business Resource Center, IT, and operations. 

     

    Responsibilities include:

    • Overall Development and Management of Programs and Brands in Key Menu Categories
      • Development of the annual category plans and marketing programs, promotions and implementation strategies that support revenue generation goals.
      • Develop strategies to achieve sustainable long-term revenue, margin and other volume growth targets in line with the overall business strategy.
      • Work closely with Insights and Analytics team to provide insights and recommendations by synthesizing data from a multitude of sources on customer, channel, and category strategy. Recommend actionable solutions based on a clear understanding of the analysis.
      • Work closely with Insights and Analytics team on a strategic process with regard to competitive analysis and marketplace research
      • Utilize both industry and competitive trends to analyze sales and purchase data, and establish benchmarks for making key category decisions.
      • Work with culinary, operations and IT teams to build implementation guides and brand books for new concept roll out and scale.
      • Develop multi-channel marketing communication strategy for each brand and concept we launch.
    • Ongoing management and maintenance of existing Brands and Category Programs
      • Measure sales results of existing programs and concepts and make recommendations for optimization
      • Work closely with operations and culinary teams to maintain concept standards
    • Provide thought leadership to drive new and continuously improving promotional planning processes and strategic category planning
    • Leverage strategic, complementary, third-party relationships, i.e. manufacturers, consultants and agencies

     

    Required Experience:

    • Brand or category management experience in a retail brand organization, restaurant or grocery chain with a strong quality market position. Additional analytical related experience would be a plus.
    • A food and beverage professional with multi-dimensional capability: strategy, development, marketing and communications
    • Experience developing and successfully managing program initiatives and strategies
    • Consistent track record of meeting and exceeding performance goals
    • Demonstrated ability to act as a creative director to external firms, agencies and internal resources
    • Demonstrated communication and creative writing skills
    • Creative and flexible in attitude and style to adapt to new situations in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment.  Possesses courage and conviction and the ability to effectively work in a transforming organization.  Ability to deal with ambiguity and effectively lead through a highly matrixed environment.
    • “Roll-up your sleeves” strong work ethic, with a solution driven mentality. A results-oriented individual who takes initiative, makes things happen and has a positive attitude.
    • An organized self-starter, confident in his/her abilities, self-motivated and able to work independently
    • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office platforms.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree required.
    • 3-5 years experience in retail marketing functions (i.e. merchandising, category management, program development, retail automation, operations management, supply chain) or equivalent experience.
    • Hyper-competitive, aggressive and diligent with a strong desire to think differently.
    • Excellent organizational skills including time and project management.
    • Self-driven, confident and strategic.
    • Position requires flexibility to travel 30%, including overnight.
