    Description

    The Director of Finance - Mobilization will partner with Growth Leadership, Global Operations Excellence (GOE), Mobilization Leads, Business Unit Finance and Operations Leadership, and key staff department leadership throughout Aramark to guide, enhance and execute the key financial aspects of our large-scale new account openings.   You will primarily be responsible for ensuring that all critical finance and accounting related tasks are executed for account mobilizations.  You will also play a key role in creating enhanced operating processes with a focus on centralizing and streamlining opening tasks along with training to support these activities across the enterprise.  You will interact regularly with Business Unit finance leadership, and Corporate Finance and Accounting department leadership as the key liaison during large account openings.  You will also interact regularly with Business Unit and Corporate Investment teams amongst other various Corporate support functions to translate proformas into fiscal year plans and forecasts in our systems – specifically the costing, reporting, and analysis of Startup Costs. This enterprise-wide position will be a key leadership position within the Mobilization team, utilizing cross-LOB perspective and interaction to advise on strategy and continuous improvement in our Mobilization initiative across the company.  The role reports to the VP of Finance – Global Supply Chain & Procurement.

     

    Mobilization Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate and quarterback finance-related mobilization items for large scale openings (+$5M annual revenue, aligned w/ Mobilization definition)
    • Ensure all critical finance and accounting tasks for opening are identified, assigned and monitored. Includes, but not limited to:
    • Internal controls / audit
    • Treasury / cash / credit set-ups
    • Accounting set-ups
    • Profit center opening activities
    • Act as central point of contact and liaison for mobilization team for finance and accounting related questions and needs

    Training/Process Improvement:

    • Through work with operations and mobilization teams, identify gaps in the mobilization process related to finance and accounting.
    • Work with appropriate finance and accounting departments to develop on-going protocol, training, playbooks for processes/activities to utilize in mobilization efforts, and organization broadly
    • Through work with operations and mobilization teams, identify gaps in the process outside of finance and accounting that have short or long-term financial impact to the business
    • Escalate those gaps to mobilization leadership
    • Incorporate Finance Training (via website) into mobilization plans
    • Coordinate any feedback back to training owners for updates as needed

    Systems Implementation:

    • Support finance and accounting system implementation throughout mobilization efforts, ie GFF
    • Escalate issues with other systems (ie Prima, Kronos, Catertrax, etc.) to mobilization leadership and system owners that have short or long-term financial impact

    Planning & Forecasting:

    • Work with Business Units to load proforma/plan information into systems for accurate tracking of results
    • Memorialize and validate final proforma against approved deal
    • Align w/ BUs on translation of proforma to plan and/or forecast
      • seasonality/stub year
      • phasing of opening costs and investment
    • Work with FP&A and Investment teams to ensure startup policy governance.
    • Identify startup cost trends and partner with business unit leadership to build standards and metrics around opening costs and duration, for example: 
    • Uniform & smallware expenses
    • Prima startup costs
    • POS start-up costs and/or investment
    • Work with Accounting to review contract terms and establish appropriate bookkeeping.

    Qualifications

    • The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance.
    • 10+ years of progressively responsible finance and accounting experience is required.
    • Position requires demonstrated experience at the Field or Functional Director level in a finance or accounting capacity.
    • Prior experience leading and developing a staff.
    • Position requires excellent interpersonal and communications skills, sound judgment and ability to learn quickly while working in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
    • The ability to effectively use deliberate influence strategies to impact, shape, or re-direct the behaviors of others, without formal authority.
    • The ability to effectively collaborate, influence and achieve success across various levels of management, as well as various functions
    • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in using a personal computer and prior experience with sophisticated financial computer applications, including Oracle, is preferred.
    • This position will require travel, estimated at 25%+, including some overnight travel.
