    Position Summary.  The Contract Analyst supports the Strategic Sourcing organization with contract preparation and finalization. The Contract Analyst works closely with Avendra’s associates, Strategic Sourcing leadership, and with Avendra’s Legal Department to ensure that the resulting contracts are of the highest, professional quality. The Contract Analyst prepares and reviews final documents for compliance with Avendra’s internal rules, regulations and policies. 


    The role is highly visible and requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of Avendra’s Contract Management Regulations (CMR) and business model.


    Position Reports to Manager, Contract Administration


    Primary Responsibilities

    • Work directly with individual Contract Owners, Strategic Sourcing leadership, and Avendra’s Legal Department to prepare contract documents utilizing templates and other standardized contract language
    • Ensure supplier business and legal terms are accurately reflected and contract standards (e.g. formatting, accurate references, spelling, grammar, adhering to processes, etc.) are met for final contract documents
    • Evaluate contracts and identify approvals (via a CMR Summary form, Overview tab, and template questions in Ariba) required to comply with current policies and guidelines for Strategic Sourcing associates
    • Track on-going document changes and ensure document acceptance by Contract Owner
    • Utilize the Ariba Contracts system to effectively prepare contract documents, identify need for approvals and deviations to no fly zones, and ensure the delivery of high quality documents



    Secondary Responsibilities    

    • Perform quality reviews of contracts to ensure the documents meet the highest, professional quality (e.g., correct legal name, dates and addresses match, verify math examples, formatting, accurate terms and references, spelling, grammar, adhering to processes, etc.)
    • Provide feedback to department leadership on Ariba Contracts design, functionality, and any issues.
    • Perform special projects as requested to support the Legal department.

    Work Environment.  This job operates in an office setting.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.


    Physical Demands. This is largely a sedentary role with some light lifting of files possibly needed. 


    Role Requirements

    • Demonstrated history of exceptional attention to detail
    • Ability to write clearly with a high degree of technical accuracy
    • Well-developed verbal ability, including excellent grammar and sentence structure
    • Knowledge of contracts, term sheets and other legal documents, including the ability to draft non-template contract language, read and interpret contract documents and understand business concepts
    • Ability to work independently in handling contract topics with members of Avendra’s contracting team and Legal department counterparts.
    • Ability to prioritize workload, manage multiple projects, and work under time constraints
    • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and basic Microsoft Excel (formatting)
    • Strong customer service orientation

    Education Requirements.   BS/BA in relevant field or equivalent years' experience
