    Position Summary:


    The Planner/Scheduler will be required to work closely with the customer, engineers, maintenance management, maintenance technicians and various suppliers on a daily basis in order to develop detailed job plans for corrective, project, preventive maintenance activities; create a rolling multi-week maintenance schedule; maintain backlog records by trade, region, and route; maintain future work load forecast based on client input; conduct weekly maintenance/operations scheduling meetings; participate in maintenance/production meetings; manage planned system/facility outages and communicate planned outage/weekly schedules.  The Planner/Scheduler will identify and request parts; manage maintenance/operations documentation; manage quoting activities and update information in the CMMS program.



    Essential Functions:

    • Provide planning and scheduling support for defined team, locations, resources, vendors, etc.
    • Leverage facilities knowledge and productivity tools to provide effective and efficient work control.
    • Lead and utilize technology and processes
    • Work order follow-up
    • Analysis of job requirements
    • Performs job research
    • Develops detailed job plans
    • Job package preparation
    • Responsible for job close-out and follow-up including updating CMMS and initiating new work orders, if necessary
    • Responsible for all maintenance documentation management such as manuals, specification, spare parts lists, work plans and etc.
    • Manage a maintenance schedule for maintenance work orders, recurring services provided by vendors, planned system/facility outages, and special projects
    • Manage maintenance work order backlog
    • Lead schedule coordination meetings
    • Attend operations team meetings
    • Responsible for planning/scheduling KPI tracking, trending, and reporting



    • Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of a technical associate’s degree or specific work history using CMMS systems or platforms. 
    • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.  
    • Training in planning/scheduling, reliability based maintenance, and purchasing and budgeting is also desirable.



    • License in a skilled trade (i.e. electrical, plumbing or HVAC) is preferred.  
    • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP), Certified Plant Maintenance Manager (CPMM), or other similar accreditations are also desirable.



    • In depth knowledge of planning and scheduling. 
    • Working experience with CMMS system(s). 
    • Good understanding of reliability based maintenance and project management.  Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulatory requirements. 
    • Working knowledge of planner/scheduler relationship with respect to scheduling in a distributed portfolio; vendor managed operation; multi-craft operation; planning and executing work; coordinating purchasing, manufacturing maintenance and facilities maintenance activities; the proper documentation requirements for historic work analysis. 
    • Familiar with the challenges of customer/client relationships.
