    Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

    • To obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
    • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
    • Ensure a timely reporting and reconciliation of all monthly financial information.
    • Prepare journal entries for various accruals, actual expenses, reserves, etc.  Clearly document sources of data and reasoning for entries.
    • Analyze specific area of the balance sheet, for example A/R, Inventory, Intangibles, Cash.   Explain variances to prior periods.  Calculate metrics specific to these reconciliations.   Understand and explain subsystem interface to general ledger.
    • Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
    • Responds to inquiries from the Director of Finance, and other finance and firm wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests.
    • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
    • Ability to communicate with other departments. 
    • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.




    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent experience.

    Knowledge/Skills and Experience:

    • 3 to 5 years prior accounting experience.
    • Strong spreadsheet experience required (experience with pivot tables, macros, for example).
    • Good written and oral communication skills.
    • Oracle and Hyperion Financials knowledge preferred.
    • Organized, flexible self-starter.
    • Ability to complete projects/tasks on time with minimal supervision.
    • Solid problem-solving skills, which include well-supported proposed solutions to issues
    • Must be detail oriented with a strong ability to multitask.
    • Must be able to manage time to meet established time cutoffs.
