    Description

    Position:

    We are seeking a Chef Manager for Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center in Globe, AZ. This position reports to the Food Service Director and will be the lead culinary person who is responsible for overseeing all of the culinary operations for this site, which includes food production for patient feeding, retail, and catering. 

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Administers and directs all unit activities related to food production and culinary operations, complying with the standards established by Aramark Healthcare, regulatory agencies and the client. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other departments to provide a unified food service experience for patients, residents, visitors and employees. 
    • Train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities.
    • Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food.
    • Select and develop recipes as well as standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality.
    • Establish presentation technique and quality standards, and plan and price menus.
    • Ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance and ensures proper safety and sanitation in kitchen.
    • Oversee special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and/or demonstrates culinary techniques.
     

    Qualifications

    • Ideal candidates will possess 2-3 years of post high school education, preferably a culinary degree, and 2-3 years in a related position with this company or other food service organization(s).
    • Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession.
    • Healthcare experience is preferred.
    • This includes experiential knowledge required for management of people and/or problems. Requires oral, reading and written communication skills.
