    The Manager, Mechanical Engineering is an individual contributor, liaison & project manager providing consultation to assigned branch/plant locations on the optimum use and application of mechanical functions to meet business objectives. Supports production and engineering efforts and programs to ensure timely and costly execution of a wide variety of engineering functions; including but not limited to, facility, boiler, water distributions systems, and all electrical functionalities. Serves as a liaison between Engineering and locations/branches for the purposes of: 1) recommending procedures and upgrades to address equipment deficiencies, 2) optimizing throughput, 3) improving operational reliability, 4) adherence to corporate standards, 5) assisting with training and support as needed. Serves as a corporate resource in support of developing policies and procedures as well as other programs needed to define and improve maintenance and repair capabilities within the organization.


    Job Description


    Engineering Leadership

    • Develop positive / productive working relationships with Chief Engineers in assigned area of responsibility that ensure safe, efficient, and effective operations of all production equipment and functions.
    • Assist the Engineering Team in the development, coordination, and monitoring of all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, and operation of product designs for assigned areas of responsibilities.
    • Confer with local Chief Engineers and other production associates to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information as needed.
    • Assist in establishing training on proper operation and preventative maintenance of building and production equipment that ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment and processes.
    • Assist branches with the proper installation of new or relocated equipment in a safe, timely and cost effective manner
    • Assist branches with equipment replacement specifications and justifications and sourcing replacement parts for equipment in a timely and cost effective manner
    • Direct vendors and contactors on equipment disconnecting, removal, shipping, relocation in a safe, timely and cost effective manner
    • Conduct maintenance training seminars along with equipment manufacturers as needed in an effective and timely manner

    This role will have an assigned workplace. This position is also expected to spend significant time in a production environment where they will be exposed to heat/cold, odors, hazardous materials, machinery, loud noises and operating equipment.


    Travel Requirements:

    80% of this position will require travel throughout the US and Canada



    • 5 years industrial equipment maintenance.
    • BA/BS degree in mechanical engineering or similar highly preferred.
    • Project management, equipment and system troubleshooting experience.
    • Read/Interpret electrical schematics.
    • Boiler/Steam system experience.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
    • Ability to effectively communicate within all levels of the organization.
    • Processing Information, problem sensitivity, time efficiency, and organization skills.
    • Ability to travel 80% plus to branch locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.


    Preferred Experience

    • Project/Vendor management.
    • CMMS experience.
    • 2 years plant maintenance supervisory experience.
    • Safety compliance (LOTO, Confined Space, etc).
    • Wastewater operation.
    • Controls experience.
    • Autocad experience.
